Product Description

Say bonjour to the Weber Workshops Moulin (pr. moo-lahn, French for ‘mill’).

As with coffee, we take great pleasure in all kitchen endeavors. We approached the Moulin’s design with the same desire to push the art forward that we embody in our coffee products. The result, first released in 2016, is the world's first truly premium pepper mill. In 2021 we added a salt mill on a record-breaking Kickstarter campaign. Now we craft and stock them as full sets (caddy included), or for sale individually. Here's the whole set with a discount baked in for purchasing together.

Material

They feature aerospace machined and anodized aluminum, marine-grade stainless 316L shafts, and sealed and food-safe bearings. The lids are held on with 3 neodymium magnets strong enough to hold, but still able to pull-off for a quick refill.

The salt mill, while aesthetically identical on the outside, has a re-engineered inside for the necessary corrosion-resistance when grinding salt. All of the critical internal pieces are machined in marine-grade 316L stainless steel, but while the grinding burrs and the bearings on the pepper mill are made from hardened steel, on the salt mill these are made of Zirconium.

The Caddy

The caddy is made from a solid piece of teak wood sanded and finished with a non-VOC oil. The handle is solid brass and held in with 2 stainless fasteners. It will last forever and patina gracefully.

Compatible Salts and Peppers

Pepper: Use whole-grain peppercorns intended for grinding. We recommend Kampot and Tellicherry peppercorns, but there are endless varieties available in the world.

Salt: Use non-wet large grain salt crystals. Best to store in a dry location when not in use to prevent "sweating" of the salts.
