Product Description

We love coffees from Caparao! Especially when there's a great story behind them! Silmara Emerick has switched to producing specialty coffees in 2019 and we're glad she did! This black honey is not what you'd expect from a Brazilian coffee: delicate, fruity, smoooth!

This coffee is roasted light but. With a slightly extended development time to showcase the complexity of flavors.

About this coffee

We won't hide it – when it. Comes to Brazilian coffees, we have lately been hooked on coffees from the Caparao region. Not just for our core espresso coffees (check out our Coletivo Caparao) but also coffees that are your typical Brazilian coffees. This black honey produced by a young producer is a true showcase what Brazil has to offer in the higher end of the specialty coffee spectrum, but without the gimmicks of experimental processing.

We could call it the new wave of coffee producers in Brazil and Silmara Emerick is surely one of the stars of this new wave. Coming from an agricultural heritage (parents and grandparents were farmers), she began taking care of her own coffee trees in 2001. Later she inherited a piece of land and a farm was born. Until 2019 Silmara was involved in commodity coffee, but with the help of her uncle, then discovered the true potential of the coffee trees on her piece of land. Immediately after switching to specialy coffee, her coffees got noticed in several national competitions. Silmara's coffees were a true revelation for us and we are happy to be able to present you this wonderful black honey.
